Longyan Wikipedia
History. In 736 AD, (the Tang dynasty), the prefecture of Tingzhou was established in western Fujian, or Minxi (), administering Changting, Huanglian and Xinluo counties. Six years later Xinluo was named Longyan for the nearby cavern, a famous scenic site.
